Driveway Replacement

Driveway replacement is an inexpensive service from Capital Paving. We say "inexpensive" because many homeowners shy away from a completely replacing their driveways, thinking that it will be expensive and instead choose to just patch up the failing areas, but Capital Paving takes care of your worries by offering you a cost effective driveway replacement solution.

Why replace instead of patch?

  • When your driveway is pitted or cracked, it is more difficult to drive on and can lead to car problems.
  • An aesthetically pleasing driveway is important to both you as a homeowner and your neighbors.
  • If you're thinking of selling your house, it's always advisable to replace your driveway rather than just patch it up so the buyer doesn't try to drive the price down based on the condition of the driveway.
  • It's always good to see a well built and maintained driveway welcoming you when you come home.

Driveway Resurfacing

An alternative option to replacement can be resurfacing your property which is also very much appealing due to its cost effectiveness. So if you want to cover up your existing concrete or just decorate your plain slab, overlaying is the perfect option for you.

Overlays can be done with the following process: First, we thoroughly clean your parking lots or driveways. Then the standard mat is paved with 41A asphalt, which is around 2 inches thick after compressing it with a roller. The last and most important step for completing your resurfacing project is a final cleanup.

Capital Paving takes care of each and every aspect related to resurfacing. We carefully do the work and also take care to avoid "reflective cracking". With proper maintenance, the shelf life of resurfacing or overlay is 8-10 years.

Overlay options:

Epoxy coatings

Polished overlays

Rural Driveways

The thing about rural driveways is that they can be extremely long, and thus paving them is generally considered a strict NO-NO from a cost perspective. This is also the reason rural driveways are pictured as earthen roads receiving light use with negligible topping. However, Capital Paving understands that rural driveways can see as much use as others, and also require overlay in order to be durable. We offer many suitable overlay options for your rural driveway. Since each project is different, call us today to review the options that are appropriate for you.

Gravel Driveways

A gravel driveway is one of the most attractive and one of the most popular driveway elements. It possesses a dual benefit for the people in terms of its aesthetic looks and cost effectiveness as compared with other driveway options. This makes gravel driveway a classic choice for people who require a low maintenance and an inexpensive addition to their home.

Capital Paving gives you colorful options to choose from for installing your very own gravel driveway and assures a life expectancy of 5-10 yrs. with regular maintenance. We make sure that your gravel driveways are weed and vegetation free by applying herbicides before installation. Asphalt Maintenance & Repair

Crack Repair

An inevitable phenomenon that maintenance engineers have to face time and again is pavement cracking. A primary mode of deterioration, it occurs in a variety of forms – transverse, block, longitudinal, and alligator shaped. These need to be filled immediately as it gives way to moisture which may further worsen the pavement as a whole.

At CAPITAL PAVING LLC., we know the extent and seriousness of the situation. To maximize the life of the pavement, it is necessary to fill/seal the pavement with the appropriate process: crack filling, which places repair material on the crack, and crack sealing which places materials on the routed channel. First, we put up specialized incompressible materials in the cracks to fortify adjacent pavement. To fill and seal cracks, we use rubberized asphalt sealant in Band-Aid configuration depending on the term of performance.

Patching

Patching is a part of the maintenance of your driveway wherein the problem is addressed by replacing the failed area with brand new H.M.A. This is mainly required where the sub-base has become unsteady as the patch fails. Once the problem areas are identified, we excavate them until the sub-base is reachable. Then asphalt is put in and compacted compacted to a depth of 3" and the final edges are sealed to eliminate any gaps so as to prevent moisture attack and to keep a stronghold bond with the surrounding asphalt.

In some cases where sub base is intact and not required to be replaced, infrared patching is a preferred option. After the required patching is done, the meeting points between the joints and asphalt are sealed with a rubberized sealant.
